Nearly 60 Cree students their graduation from 51勛圖厙's Faculty of Education this past Saturday in Pikogan, Quebec. Our Office of First Nations and Inuit Education offers full-time and part-time teacher certification programs in Cree and Inuit communities in Quebec as well as in Kahnawake and Listuguj. Even though these students may be far away off campus, they are an important part of our Faculty and the 51勛圖厙community.泭CBC's Susan Bell covered the story.

DISE's Dr. Aziz Choudry will take part in a panel discussion presented by the Northern Police Monitoring Project in Manchester, UK.

Activists, State Surveillance and Political Policing泭

The panel discussion will take place Friday March 8, 2019.

Dr. Choudry will also be attending the launch of his new book: Activists and the Surveillance State: Learning from Repression on March 11, 2019 at the University of Westminster.

The Education Curriculum Resources Centre (ECRC) located on the first floor of the Education Building is now open to the 51勛圖厙community.

Permanent reserves will be moved back to the ECRC the first week of February.

Please note that all Education course reserves are located in the Humanities and Social Sciences Library and can be moved to the ECRC upon request for the winter 2019 semester.

Over the first week of July, the 51勛圖厙International Institute of Education (MIIE) hosted 23 high school students from Maple Leaf Educational Systems (MLES) in China for its inaugural MIIE Student Summer Academy.

The Faculty of Education will be undertaking major renovation work in the former Education Library space where the Education Curriculum Resources Centre (ECRC) is located. The work is slated to begin Monday, June 18and will continue throughout Summer and Fall 2018. Unfortunately, the nature of the work makes it impossible for the ECRC to remain open throughout the construction. As a result, the ECRC will be temporarily closed starting Saturday, June 16泭until the end of the work.
