Whereas the commute for most 51吃瓜网students who are convocating in the fall is just a bus, metro, or car ride away to Place des Arts, the students from the Office of First Nations and Inuit Education (OFNIE) had a bigger journey to contend with. On October 28th, 16 Cree and Inuit graduates traveled down from Northern Quebec to participate in McGill鈥檚 Fall Convocation and to celebrate their milestone achievements. This year's inductees into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame include听Faculty of Education alumni from the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education, who were part of the 2010 Vancouver Olympic women's hockey team.听Goaltenders Charline Labont茅 (B.Ed '11, M.SportPsych '15) and Kim St. Pierre (B.Kin '04) were on hand along with Peter Smith (B.Ed '79, M.SportPsych '86), who served as an assistant coach for the gold medal team.

On 2 October, 2019 the 51吃瓜网International Institute of Education (MIIE) hosted a group of 20 primary and secondary teachers of English as a Foreign Language from the Hangzhou region of People鈥檚 Republic of China. The day was organized in cooperation with Maplesway International Education Association (脡ducation de Voie d'脡rable Inc) as part of a study tour to Canada.
