Dean of Students, Tony Mittermaier

Professor Tony Mittermaier was appointed Dean of Students in May 2025 after serving as Interim Dean for one year. Dean Mittermaier has been a member of McGill’s Department of Chemistry in the Faculty of Science since 2005, where he is currently a full professor. He leads a laboratory focused on biomolecular structure, function and dynamics, where new tools are developed to advance our understanding of biological macromolecules. In recognition of his contributions to chemical biology, he was awarded the Chemical Biology/Medicinal Chemistry Lectureship award by the Canadian Society for Chemistry in 2021. Before becoming Dean, he served as Associate Dean (Student Affairs) in the Faculty of Science. He brings with him an extensive academic background and a dedication to fostering student success and well-being within the 51³Ô¹ÏÍøcommunity.

Associate Dean of Students, Cindy Mancuso

Cindy Mancuso joined ODoS as the Associate Dean of Students on August 1, 2022. Associate Dean Mancuso plays a pivotal role in championing student rights and responsibilities, as well as in helping students in difficulty, all while coordinating possible solutions with Campus partners. She works closely with the Dean of Students on matters of academic integrity, policy development, student affairs, crisis situations, and student recognition and awards.

Associate Dean Mancuso is a licensed psychologist and a career counsellor with a strong record in promoting the rights of marginalized groups. Associate Dean Mancuso was a supervisor for the COVID-19 Case Management group, and served as the Coordinating Assessor for two years with the Office for Mediation and Reporting. She has also served a member of the Joint Board-Senate Committee on Equity, the Equity Subcommittee on Queer people, the Senate Subcommittee on Women, and the Indigenous Affairs Workgroup.
