Paul Lefebvre, Member of Parliament for Sudbury, on behalf of the Honourable Amarjeet Sohi, Canadas Minister of Natural Resources, today announced an investment of over $1.5 million for a project led by McGills Professor Hani Mitri, Director of Mining Engineering at 51勛圖厙, and founder of 51勛圖厙Mine Design & Numerical Modelling Laboratory. Professor Mitris research project will validate and test a new method for rock breakage, improving mining and tunneling practices, while reducing blast-induced fumes from traditional explosives.

Two researchers from The Neuro are among just ten nationwide to receive Early-Career Capacity Building Grants this year from the Azrieli Foundation in partnership with the Brain Canada Foundation. Researchers Adrien Peyrache and Stuart Trenholm will study epilepsy and vision, respectively. The grants support early-career investigators who are conducting transformative research to advance understanding of the brain, in illness or health.
