Hear the Wedding Bells Ring: The Dark Side of Child Marriages

The Selfie in Solidarity challenge started as a class project for Dr. Shadi Martin's Anti-Oppressive Practice Course at 51勛圖厙school of Social Work.

The students were asked to take action to effect personal and social change on a social justice issue. With the use of social media, the students started an international campaign to raise awareness about child marriages around the world.

High School Students Visit the 51勛圖厙School of Social Work

On March 9th, 2016, the 51勛圖厙School of Social Work welcomed nine high school students from the English Montreal School Board as part of their Career Exploration Program.泭

The students had the opportunity to visit the Wilson Hall building and attend the course Intro to Practicum (SWRK 222), given by Karen Hetherington and Shadi Martin. 泭

Social Gerontology at the School - New Journal Club

The Centre for Research and Expertise in Social Gerontology (CREGS) satellite office is a space where students interested in aging issues can network, provide mutual support and share their research interests and practice experiences. The satellite office works in collaboration with the main principles of CREGS, the Center for research and expertise in social gerontology at the Cavendish University affiliated Health and social service centre.
