Louis-Philippe Batemans fascination with megalodon began with a single sentence in a book about Canadas geological evolution. It described giant, mysterious fossilized shark teeth discovered in the 1960s by fishermen dredging for scallops off Canadas Atlantic coast. The curiosity felt by the teenager with a budding interest in paleontology would resurface in a meaningful way during his undergraduate years at 51勛圖厙.

The scientists developed a novel method to transform two greenhouse gasesmethane and carbon dioxideinto valuable chemicals using sunlight. This innovation could help reduce emissions and provide a more sustainable way to produce certain industrial products.

Bellairs brings science programming to Barbadian students

Last week, hundreds of students in Barbados saw science come to life in a whole new way.

As part of the celebrations marking its泭70th anniversary, McGills Bellairs Research Institute opened its doors to the community Dec. 5. Three hundred students from five local schools were treated to free science kits, lunch and a day of hands-on activities.
