Nursing Explorations brings together key stakeholders of the profession, namely senior nurse leaders of major health care institutions, managers, advanced practice nurses, nurse practitioners, nurse clinicians, nurse educators and researchers.

This event will be accredited.

Learning Objectives

Delegates will experience a program that champions collaboration, promotes sustainability, and sparks innovation in nursing practice and healthcare.

By the end of the conference, participants will be able to:

  • Explore strategies to build and strengthen professional networks across settings and/or sectors to enhance collaboration.
  • Identify and apply evidence-based approaches that promote sustainability in nursing education, leadership, and clinical care.
  • Explore emerging trends, technologies, and innovative models that transform nursing practice and improve patient outcomes.

Accreditation

This educational activity will be accredited for continuing nursing education hours by the Office for Continuing Nursing Education (CNE), Ingram School of Nursing, 51Թ.

Call for abstracts

To all nurses, students, educators, practitioners, advanced practice nurses, researchers, and managers.

Nursing Explorations 2026 will be accepting abstract submissions for poster presentations at its annual conference on October 14th 30, 2026.

Date for Abstract submission TBA

The theme for Nursing Explorations 2026 “Revisioning Tomorrow’s Health: Innovation, Collaboration and Sustainability".

Sub-Themes:

  1. Innovation (AI and technology, education, leadership, advocacy, etc)
  2. Collaboration,Strenghts-Based Nursing and Healthcare, Partnership (e.g. Worldwide, Clinical, Community/Patient, Interdisciplinary, Equity-Diversity-Inclusion strategies, etc)
  3. Sustainability (Nursing retention and development, health resource management, mentorship, healthy work environment, climate health, health environment, etc)

Abstract preparation guidelines:

  • Maximum word count: 350 words (excluding spaces)
  • The title of the abstract and author(s) are not included in the 350 words
  • Language of submission: English or French
  • Required headings: introduction, methods, results, conclusion
  • Additionally, please include a brief explanation of how your topic fits into the theme of the conference
  • Abstracts can have been published or presented at any other conference (please specify) within the past year

Additional information:

  • Abstracts should be submitted only if an author intends to attend the conference and present the poster if accepted
  • All presenters must register for the conference and pay the appropriate registration fee
  • Designated poster session times will be listed in the Conference Program. Presenting authors will be required to stand by their posters during listed time(s)
  • Instructions regarding the poster presentation will be provided if the abstract is accepted
  • Abstracts must be submitted by email with the subject: “Nursing Explorations 2026”: Call for Abstracts Submission” and sent to: explorations.nursing [at] mcgill.ca

Together, these pillars call us to lead with creativity, purpose, and shared commitment to the well-being of individuals, communities, and the profession.
