51³Ô¹ÏÍø is a member of the XPRIZE Higher Education Network. As an XPRIZE partner, 51³Ô¹ÏÍøfaculty and students gain access to exclusive opportunities, including:

  • Preferred access to XPRIZE events, fellowships, internships, and grant programs
  • Opportunities to participate in and host XPRIZE competitions and related events
  • Increased collaboration with a global network of leading universities and innovators

51³Ô¹ÏÍøjoins over 400 universities worldwide in leveraging XPRIZE’s platform to support research and real-world impact. Current XPRIZE competitions focus on:

  • Quantum computing
  • Carbon removal
  • Healthy aging
  • Water desalination
  • Wildfire management

With prize purses ranging from $5 million to $119 million, these competitions provide a unique opportunity for 51³Ô¹ÏÍøresearchers and students to apply their expertise toward breakthrough innovations.

This partnership aligns with McGill’s commitment to fostering transdisciplinary sustainability research and equipping students with the skills to tackle complex global challenges. About the 51³Ô¹ÏÍøSustainability Systems Initiative

The 51³Ô¹ÏÍøSustainability Systems Initiative (MSSI) is the University’s convenor, catalyst, connector, and overall leader of sustainability research efforts. The MSSI is comprised of network of 253 professors and a $10M research fund. The MSSI's goal is to create societal change by creating inter and transdisciplinary research programs.
