Rooted in Spirit, Ready to Grow

Welcome from MORSL

Over the past few days, I had the privilege of joining the staff and volunteers of McGill’s Office of Religious and Spiritual Life (MORSL) in interacting with more than 500 students and their families during orientation events. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who stopped by our tables and events, and to the volunteers from 51³Ô¹ÏÍøand local communities whose presence enriched the experience for all.

Whether you're just beginning your journey at 51³Ô¹ÏÍøor returning for another semester, all of us at MORSL extend a warm welcome to this season of growth and (re)connection. Growth can take many forms—intellectual, emotional, and spiritual—and sometimes it can leave us feeling off balance. If you ever need to find your footing, MORSL is here with resources, encouragement, and communities that ground, uplift, and challenge you in meaningful ways.

There’s a lot to look forward to this fall. If you're a regular subscriber to this newsletter, you may already be familiar with our beloved My Neighbour's Faith series, featuring monthly visits to sacred sites around the city. We begin with a on September 18, followed by a visit to the Bahá'í Shrine on October 27. Another opportunity to explore diverse worldviews is our Dialogue and Dinner program—a short series of workshops designed to build practical skills for interfaith dialogue.

Our programming is enriched each year by the creativity and contributions of students, who help generate even more opportunities for meaningful connection. Stay tuned for updates on our enhanced Conversation Partners Program, and special plans for Radix Magazine, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year!

Even after seven years of service, I continue to be amazed and inspired by the unique individuals I meet through MORSL. May this Fall semester be a season of transformation, rooted in compassion, curiosity, hope, and peace.
