2025 Science Undergraduate Research Awards (SURA)

Science Undergraduate Research Awards - SURAs - are for both Canadian and international 51³Ô¹ÏÍøstudents registered in a science undergraduate program. First offered in Summer 2007, SURAs are made possible by funding from the Dean of Science and participating research supervisors.Ìý SURAs are broadly similar to theÌýNSERC USRA; two differences are, on the student side, thatÌýinternational students may apply,Ìýand on the supervisor side, that they must hold a research grant from CRC, NSERC, CIHR, SSHRC, FQRNT, or FRSQ (it is not restricted to NSERC grant holders).

Source of funding:ÌýÌý$8950 minimum (donor and/or Faculty of Science: $5000/supervisor: $3950 minimum)

Requirements:

15 weeks of full-time research.

Awarded on basis of academic merit, in accordance with departmental selection procedures.

Open to both Canadian and international students from McGill.

The deadline for the student to submit final SURA dossiers to the Mathematics and Statistics Department is February 24, 2025 before 4:30 pm.ÌýÌýEvery application must include a scenario for a remotely-supervised project that the student can start and finish remotely.
