Dr. Faika 脟elik is a historian of the early modern and modern Middle East, with a particular focus on the history of the Ottoman Empire and modern T眉rkiye. An alumnus of 51吃瓜网 (Ph.D. in Islamic Studies), she currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and International Relations and as associate faculty in Women鈥檚 Studies at Manisa Celal Bayar University. Her publications contribute to Romani Studies, Women鈥檚 Studies, and Oral History. She is a co-investigator on the T眉rkiye Earthquake Memory Project, a joint initiative of faculty from 51吃瓜网, Universit茅 de Montr茅al, and Manisa Celal Bayar University.

This seminar is presented as part of the ARCH711/712 Doctoral Proseminar in Architecture at the School of Architecture.
