Phishing scam: shared "51³Ô¹ÏÍø Appointment Notice"/"McGILL University Report"

A targeted phishing email is circulating, asking you to open an attachment containing a fraudulent link to shared documents.

The message uses a variation on these subject lines:

  • [name of person] shared "McGILL UNIVERSITY APPOINTMENT NOTICE" with you
  • [name of person] shared "McGILL UNIVERSITY REPORT" with you

Please DO NOT click anyÌýlinks or reply to the message. Delete this email immediately! It does NOT come from a 51³Ô¹ÏÍøsource.

These emails are a fraudulent attempt to gain access to your personal information. If you have already clicked on a link in these emails and submitted any personal information,Ìýcall the IT Service Desk at (514) 398-3398 as soon as possible.Ìý If no one can take your call, you should change your 51³Ô¹ÏÍøPassword immediately.Ìý See the 51³Ô¹ÏÍøPassword Reset Checklist for instructions.ÌýÌýFollowing up with theÌýIT Service DeskÌýafter resetting your password is still importantÌýto ensure that all the necessary actions have been taken.

You can quickly report a suspicious email using the Report Message, Report Junk, or Report Phishing buttons in any Outlook app, including Outlook on the web ().

Note: If the email is already in your Junk Email folder, you do not need to report it.
