Deborah Danoff

Dr Deborah DanoffIt is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of our dear colleague, Dr. Deborah Danoff. Deborah was a highly respected leader in medical education and a generous, beloved member of our Institute of Health Sciences Education community within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at McGill.

Deborah’s contributions to our field and her warm presence will be deeply missed by her colleagues and friends at the Institute.

DEBORAH DANOFF, MD, FRCPC, FACP, had a background that encompasses clinical, managerial and leadership administrative aspects of academic medicine, as well as more than 25 years in medical education. She received her medical degree at 51³Ô¹ÏÍøin 1973, completing her Internal Medicine and Clinical Immunology and Allergy training at 51³Ô¹ÏÍøwhere she was in an active clinical and academic practice. She was tenured as Professor of Medicine in 1995 and served as McLaughlin Professor of Medical Education at the University of Ottawa.

Dr. Danoff has held a number of leadership positions in medical education. She was involved in teaching and research as adjunct faculty in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa as well as her activities at McGill. In her work across the continuum of medical education she has consistently advanced education, assessment and scholarly activities to assure humanistic quality health care.
