RGHL Student Coordinator

The 51³Ô¹ÏÍøResearch Group in Health and Law (RGHL) is seeking to hire a Student Coordinator for the 2025-2026 academic year, with the possibility of an extension for 2026-2027. Under the supervision of the co-directors of the RGHL, Professors Lara Khoury and Alana Klein, the coordinator will contribute to the management and administration of the RGHL.

Duties include the organization of events, such as interdisciplinary conferences and colloquia; management of internship and fellowship programs; website maintenance and occasional research tasks for the group members' collaborative projects.

This is an excellent experience for all students interested in health law. Often rooted in a multidisciplinary approach, you will help coordinate and work on issues affecting health, law and public policy with experts in this field. In addition, you will have the chance to participate in the internal workings of a well-established research group.

Hours vary, but are never more than 10 hours per week during the session. This position is reserved for 51³Ô¹ÏÍølaw students who have completed one year of their law studies.

RGHL Travel Grants

The RGHL is pleased to offer travel grants to undergraduate and graduate students who wish to travel to academic conference to present their health-law related research. The aim of the travel grant program is to encourage students to pursue their interest in health law and to disseminate McGill’s expertise in this field across the country and the world.

Travel grants have a maximum value of 500$.

RGHL Graduate Fellowships

ÌýThe 51³Ô¹ÏÍøResearch Group on Health and Law (RGHL) at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Faculty of Law is inviting applications for graduate fellowships from LLM (with thesis) and DCL applicants (2024–2025 academic year) planning to complete their thesis on topics associated with the RGHL’s research interests.

Requirements

• Admission to the LLM (with thesis) or DCL program at the Faculty of Law of 51³Ô¹ÏÍø
• Completion of undergraduate-level studies in law
• LLM or DCL research project with a focus on law and health or health policy

Application process

Candidates must fill out the RGHL Graduate Fellowship form available . Successful applicants will be notified following their admission to their chosen graduate program.

The 51³Ô¹ÏÍøResearch Group on Health and Law (RGHL) at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Faculty of Law is seeking up to two Postdoctoral Fellows for a one-year period starting at the latest in April 2025.Ìý

Position DescriptionÌý

The Fellow will benefit from opportunities to expand their professional network, engage in research collaboration, and receive support in applying for fellowships, grants and professional positions.Ìý
Primary responsibilities will include carrying out ongoing interdisciplinary research projects in a range of areas related to health, law and justice for RGHL conveners and members. Other tasks may include helping design events such as research seminars, colloquia and workshops, collaborative teaching, and preparing grant applications. Work schedule: approx. 35 hours per week. The Postdoctoral Fellow is expected to spend approximately half of the fellowship hours conducting their own research alongside the above responsibilities. Salary: $48,000 per annum (plus benefits).Ìý

Qualities SoughtÌý

• Completion of doctoral-level studies in law with a focus on law and health, or law degree followed by doctoral studies in health law, health policy, or a related disciplineÌý

• Bilingualism (English, French) is an assetÌý

• Ability to conduct interdisciplinary research is an asset

RGHL Research Internships in Health Law / Stages de recherche en droit de la santé

Le Groupe de recherche en santé et droit de 51³Ô¹ÏÍøvous invite à poser votre candidature à un poste de stagiaire de recherche payé au CHU Sainte-Justine (CSJ) financé par une bourse du FRQSC. Le poste à temps partiel (10 heures par semaine; 12 semaines) est disponible, débutant pendant la session d’hiver 2025. Le stage sera complété sous la supervision de Me Guillaume Desmarais (CSJ) mais le travail sera effectué en collaboration avec toute l’équipe des avocat.e.s du CSJ.
