Chiu-Kay Lui CSC Fellowships

The fellowships were established in 2025 by Chiu-Kay Robert Lui, MD CM 1977. They aim to support Chinese, China Scholarship Council scholars pursuing doctoral degrees in STEM, Medicine and Health Sciences, as well as some areas of research in Law at McGill. 

Value and Duration

  • $16,000 to cover the cost of international fee differential
  • Funding is renewable for up to 3 years

  • Application deadline: July 14th, 2025 by 8:00 p.m. (EDT)
  • ¸é±ð²õ³Ü±ô³Ù²õÌý²¹²Ô²Ô´Ç³Ü²Ô³¦±ð»å: August 2025

Eligibility

1. Must hold a China Scholarship Council (CSC) scholarship

2. Must be admitted to or registered in a doctoral degree program in the following faculties/units at McGill: 

  • Agricultural and Environmental Sciences
  • Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences
  • Engineering
  • Medicine and Health Sciences
  • Science
  • Biological and Biomedical Engineering
  • Integrated Program in Neuroscience
  • Quantitative Life Science
  • Law (Note that only the following areas of research are eligible in Law: Research technology, business, or agricultural law.)

3. Must be PhD1 to PhD3, as per the unofficial Minerva advising transcript

4. Have a GPA of 3.30/4.00 or higher 

Application Documents

The application package includes the following: 

  1. The application form
  2. A letter of support from the supervisor
  3. Curriculum vitae
  4. Official/certified copies of all post-secondary transcripts
  5. One half page (in English) with the following information: the title of your research project, your supervisor's name, and a short lay summary of your project.
  6. One half page handwritten in Chinese with the following information: your basic information and your academic studies goal.

**Please note the following**

  • If your application is successful, the donor will receive the information requested in the two half pages, items (5) and( 6) above.
  • By signing the application form and submitting your application for consideration, you are consenting to Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies sharing the information with the donor without additional consent, should your application be successful.
  • If unsuccessful, the information will not be shared with the donor.
