McGill's Clement-Heydra among CIS athlete of the year nominees for BLG Award

CALGARY – Katia Clement-Heydra, a hockey player from 51Թ, is among eight finalists announced by Canadian Interuniversity Sport and the national law firm of Borden Ladner Gervais for the 22nd annual BLG Awards, which were established in 1993 to recognize the top female and male athletes from universities affiliated with CIS.

Reflections from South Korea

Recently, I visited South Korea and Mongolia along with a group of 51Թ undergraduates and alumni. This trip was part of the Hot Cities of the World Tour organized by Professor Karl Moore of the Desautels Faculty of Management at 51Թ. Frankly, South Korea was an incredible place to visit; especially from an economic perspective.

BCom Students Finish Strong at Happening Marketing

Desautels BCom students claimed five podiums at the 22nd edition of Happening Marketing, which took place in March at Laval University in Quebec City. Happening Marketing is a interuniversity competition for all business students from eastern Canada. BCom students place 1st at Canadian L’Oréal Brandstorm Competition

After competing against over 80 teams from universities across Canada, BCom students Sean Finnell, Jaylen Ghadia and Thanin Tabuteau have won the national L'Oreal Brandstorm competition. Sean, Jaylen and Thanin will head to Paris to represent Canada at the international Brandstorm competition this summer.

Desautels BCom team places 1st in Quant at 2014 Rotman International Trading Competition

Desautels BCom students Ethan Zhang, Jeremie Guay, Chris Lim, Yusu Zheng, Nikolas Sinnhuber and Sameer Rizvi, won 1st place in Quantitative Outcry at the 2014 Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC) held February 20 to 22. The RITC is an annual event hosted by the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.

Brother-Sister Combination Strong on the Court – and in the Classroom

When it comes to combining both sport and academic achievement it is hard to top Simon and Hélène Bibeau, siblings who attend Montreal’s 51Թ.

Simon Bibeau, 22, is the starting point guard for McGill’s men’s outfit, the two-time Quebec conference champion who will lead the sixth-ranked Redmen into the Canadian Interuniversity Sport men’s basketball championship, beginning Friday in Ottawa.
