BCom students selected for CEOx1Day program

The CEOx1Day program offers some of Canadas top students the opportunity to learn directly from executives at some of the countrys most prominent companies. Hosted by the Odgers Berndtson Canada consultancy, candidates undergo a rigorous selection process and shadow the CEOs of organizations like Bombardier, Canadian Blood Services and the Royal Canadian Mint. This year, two 51勛圖厙Desautels Bachelor of Commerce students made the cut.

MMR student shares how L'Or矇al Brandstorm led to internship

Last year, after months of hard work and 'brandstorming', two 51勛圖厙Desautels teams took the podium at the 31st annual L'Or矇al Brandstorm competition, competing against top teams from across Canada! Madison Laxer and her fellow Master of Management in Retailing (MMR) teammates, Aditi Bali and Supreet Kaur, took third place.

Suggestion that out-of-province students dont contribute to Montreals dynamism false

Brett Miller (BCom86) moved to Montreal to study at McGill, but he has made the city his home and become a leader in Quebecs business community. Now the CEO of the real estate development company Canderel, Miller is concerned about the Quebec governments plan to double tuition for out-of-province students beginning in Fall 2024. To suggest that out-of-province students dont contribute to the dynamism of the city is such a false message to send.

BCom alums paper on the financial literacy of immigrants an FCAC finalist

51勛圖厙Desautels graduate Avneet Bhabra (BCom23)s research paper 23% and Counting, but Not One Size Fits All: Helping Canadas Immigrants Strengthen Their Financial Knowledge has been published by the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC) on Canada.ca. Focusing on financial literacy amongst immigrants in Canada, the paper was selected as a finalist in the undergraduate category of the FCACs 2023 Building Better Financial Futures Challenge.

51勛圖厙Desautels students among EDC 2023 Scholarship Recipients

Export Development Canada (EDC) has unveiled the recipients of its 2023 Youth Education Program scholarships, awarding $135,000 to 27 post-secondary students who excel academically and exhibit a dedication to community service. Among the recipients are two Bachelor of Commerce students from 51勛圖厙, Jennifer Shi and Quynh Huynh, who received the prestigious International Business Scholarship.

Three more teams at the 51勛圖厙Desautels Faculty of Management have been recognized for their exceptional commitment to sustainable workplace practices. The IT Customer Service department and the Bachelor of Commerce program have both earned Bronze Certifications, while the 51勛圖厙Executive Institute earned a Silver Certification.
