IWRM Programs at McGill, Macdonald Campus

The Department of Bioresource Engineering at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø, part of the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, offers interdisciplinary programs combining engineering and biological sciences. Recognized internationally for its rigorous academic offerings (B.Eng, MSc., PhD.) and strong research commitment, the department collaborates with the Faculty of Engineering. In response to global water crises, McGill’s IWRM Program addresses the need for integrated and adaptive water management approaches, focusing on sustainable, cross-sectoral, and participatory decision-making. This program prepares future water resource professionals to tackle complex water challenges worldwide.

1-Year M.Sc. in Integrated Water Resources Management (Non-Thesis):

The Master of Science in Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø offers a holistic, interdisciplinary approach to water management, covering biophysical, environmental, legal, and socio-economic aspects. Designed for candidates from diverse fields such as geography, sociology, environmental studies, and engineering, this program prepares students to address global water challenges through a broad range of courses from multiple departments.

8 Week Online Certification Program in Integrated and Adaptive Water Resources Planning, Management & Governance:

This online course offers a comprehensive approach to water resources management, focusing on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) and Adaptive Management (AM). Designed for professionals, it provides essential skills in watershed planning, adaptive strategies, water governance, and risk assessment to strengthen global water management practices. Open to participants from diverse fields, the course equips learners with practical tools to enhance their IWRM and AM capabilities.
