The 51³Ô¹ÏÍøBook Fair and Alumni Volunteering

A pile of books
Every year in autumn, the 51³Ô¹ÏÍøBook Fair takes place in the Redpath Hall, and is organized entirely by dedicated volunteers. Launched in 1971 by the Women’s Alumnae Association and the Women’s Associates of McGill, the 51³Ô¹ÏÍøBook Fair has raised close to $2 million to support student awards. Each year volunteers and student employees sell tens of thousands of donated books, LPs, CDs, DVDs in both English and French, with topics ranging from rare and old material to contemporary fiction. Since 2009-10 all of the Book Fair proceeds have been directed to our need-based bursary program, which allows our office to provide much needed financial support to full time degree students in need. For more information about the 51³Ô¹ÏÍøBook Fair and how to donate books, visit their website.
