Her target p opulation is women who have had severe hypertensive disorders of pregnancy \, such as pre-eclampsia\, and who are at increased risk of developing hea rt disease in the years following pregnancy. Her lab investigates whether and how cardiac and obstetric rehabilitation programs can improve women’s physical function in the postpartum period and\, ultimately\, prevent life long heart disease. Her team is currently preparing a series of studies to help shape this new field of rehabilitation.
