 eliver the 2014 Killam Lecture in the Social Sciences. Dr. Taylor introduc
 ed the world to the power of cybercartography\, an enhanced form of multim
 edia mapping using geographic information management\, to deepen our under
 standing of socio-economic issues. In Canada\, and around the world\, his 
 cybercartographic atlases have delivered new perspectives and a way to com
 prehend complex issues such as trade and economic patterns\, international
  development\, and the risk of homelessness. He continues to apply his exp
 ertise with Inuit and First Nations communities in Canada. On the world st
 age\, he is actively engaged in the new United Nations Initiative on Geosp
 atial Information Management\, which seeks to address key global challenge
 s through more effective use of global geospatial information. D. R. Frase
 r Taylor is Director of the Geomatics and Cartographic Research Centre at 
 Carleton University in Ottawa. In 2013\, the International Cartographic As
 sociation awarded him the Carl Mannerfelt Gold Medal\, which is the highes
