 niversity\n\nA native of St-Timothée\, Québec\, Suzanne Fortier graduated 
 from 51³Ô¹ÏÍøwith a BSc (1972) and a PhD in Crystallography (1976). Her res
 earch focuses on the development of mathematical and artificial intelligen
 ce methodologies for protein structure determination. Professor Fortier wa
 s President of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Ca
 nada (NSERC) from 2006 to 2013. She was also appointed an Officer of the O
 rder of Canada in 2018 and serves as an officer of France’s National Order
  of Merit\, a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Sc
 ience and was named a Specially Elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Can
 ada (2015). Since 2013\, Professor Fortier has served as Principal and Vic
 e-Chancellor of 51³Ô¹ÏÍø. As well\, she currently serves as Chair
  of the World Economic Forum’s Global University Leaders Forum (GULF)\, as
  a member of the HEC Paris International Advisory Board. She also serves o
 n the Canadian Business-Higher Education Roundtable and the Board of Direc
