Thi s lecture interrogates why indegnous forms of knowledge in Africa hold imm ense potential for addressing the climate crisis but have so far been larg ely ignored. Through examples of how indigenous epistemologies and traditi ons have managed effective relationships between humanity and the environm ent in the past and present\, it offers challenges for a path forward and how collective action and our notions of self\, community\, and relationsh ip can be (re)structured so we can create a new way of living with and in our world.\n DTSTART:20250319T203000Z DTEND:20250319T214500Z LOCATION:Birks Building\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3A 2A7\, 3520 rue Universit y SUMMARY:Birks Annual Lecture Series: When the Earth Strikes Back: Indigenou s Knowledge\, Climate Crisis\, and Sustainability URL:/religiousstudies/channels/event/birks-annual-lect ure-series-when-earth-strikes-back-indigenous-knowledge-climate-crisis-and -363844 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
