Homer’s Iliad staged as a one-person show? In a Museum? Watch the performance of 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Classics professor Lynn Kozak return the epic Greek poem to its origins, as a dramatic oral presentation for a small intimate audience. Presented to you in the museum's Victorian-style auditorium,  this one-hour adaptation recreates the poem for a contemporary audience.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES

Pre-show introduction to the history of theatre: Join us for a guided tour of the Greek and Roman artifacts on display in our World Cultures exhibit. You will admire terracotta statues of theatre characters, a Roman mosaic and miniature theatrical masks, while learning all about the theatre and the Iliad poem. As per our Collections Management Policy (2024), repatriation requests will be received by the Redpath Museum Director and will be treated on a case-by-case basis.
