In pa rticular\, migratory movements can be shaped by the costs and risk of para site transmission. Here\, I will present some of our work using mathematic al models to understand how parasites shape the evolution of animal migrat ion. We use adaptive dynamics to determine the evolutionarily stable strat egy of migratory tendency\, given different infection scenarios. Finally\, I’ll use this example to argue that research is shaped by the identities\ , perspectives\, and experiences of the scientists who conduct it. Perspec tive shapes the questions we ask\, the systems we work in\, and the proces ses we choose to explore (as well as the ones we choose to ignore).\n DTSTART:20220405T160000Z DTEND:20220405T170000Z SUMMARY:QLS Seminar Series - Allison Shaw URL:/qls/channels/event/qls-seminar-series-allison-sha w-338750 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
