This dyna mical richness creates both challenges and opportunities for research. In this talk\, I will present some mathematical models of social-ecological s ystems and characterize their regimes\; discuss novelties that arise in th e detection of early warning signals of tipping points in these systems\; and show how hybridizing dynamical systems with deep learning can improve the detection of these early warning signals. Study systems include forest -grassland ecosystem mosaics\, coral reef fisheries\, social-climate syste ms\, and COVID-19 vaccination. This work is motivated by questions such as : How do we know which ecological or social-ecological regimes are possibl e? How can we know when a tipping point leading to a new dynamical regime is near\, and what happens afterwards?\n DTSTART:20250128T170000Z DTEND:20250128T180000Z SUMMARY:QLS Seminar Series - Chris Bauch URL:/qls/channels/event/qls-seminar-series-chris-bauch -362785 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
