Statistical analyses of these data can give impor tant insights into medical genetics\, demographic history\, and population health. However\, biobanks are as complex as they are rich—complications from sampling methodology\, confounding with environmental factors\, and i diosyncratic population histories ensure that analysis is no easy task. Me thods like dimensionality reduction\, clustering\, and visualization can b ring to light patterns in data that would otherwise go unnoticed. In this seminar\, I will give an outline of how manifold learning and density clus tering can uncover signal in multiple biobanks\, highlighting patterns bet ween genetics\, geography\, the environment\, and health measures. I will also discuss the role low-dimensional representations can play in illustra ting biobank composition and human genetic diversity\, as well as their et hical and social implications.\n DTSTART:20250114T170000Z DTEND:20250114T180000Z SUMMARY:QLS Seminar Series - Alex Diaz-Papkovich URL:/qls/channels/event/qls-seminar-series-alex-diaz-p apkovich-362372 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
