This season’s workshops will introduce—and provide training in—various dimensions of th e work of managing a major international poetry prize.\n\nFor the cv\, par ticipants may request letters from McGill’s Department of English attestin g to attendance of the suite of five workshops\, focused on training in ar ts entrepreneurship.\n\n\nAbout the Montreal International Poetry Prize\n \nTypically drawing 2\,000-3\,000 entries from 70 countries\, the not-for- profit Montreal Prize sponsors a crowd-funded biennial competition\, award ing one prize of $20\,000 to one poet for a single poem. Founded in 2010 b y poet and critic Asa Boxer\, the Montreal Prize is the first explicitly g lobal poetry competition\, with an international jury of award-winning poe ts from sites including North America\, the Caribbean\, the UK\, Ireland\, Australia and New Zealand\, India\, and African nations such as Nigeria a nd Uganda.
