Students unwind and recharge during Nursing Wellness Week 2025

Held April 14-17, Nursing Wellness Week 2025 was a timely reminder that wellness matters.

Hosted by the Nursing Graduate Students Association (NGSA) in collaboration with the Nursing Peer Mentorship Program (NPMP),ÌýNursing Wellness Week 2025, was a breath of fresh air. From April 14-17, approximately 20 students from nursing cohorts at the undergraduate and graduate levels as well as faculty cameÌýtogether for a well-deserved break and celebration of the end of the academic year. With a mix of learning, creativity, and movement, the fourth annual event had something for everyone, and this year’s lineup was packed with incredible guests and collaborations!

Things kicked off April 14 with aÌýDigital Health & Informatics Workshop, led by digital health expert Olivia Hollant, offering students valuable insights into tech-driven collaborative innovations in healthcare.

On April 15, students enjoyed an evening of creativity and connection at Paint Night, hosted by the always-inspiring Vanessa D’Aquila. We painted butterflies and each one came out totally unique — just like our journeys in nursing: different paths, shared purpose.

Midweek, the tempo picked up with an energizing Fitness Class on April 16, led by Sebastian Caucci, helping students recharge both body and mind. The recording is available in our Instagram’s bio (@mcgill.ngsa) so you can follow along at home anytime!

The week wrapped up beautifully on April 17 with Pieces of Me: Exploring Nursing Identity through Collage. This powerful workshop was co-hosted by NGSA, NPMP, Nursing Undergraduate Society (NUS), and the School's Office of Social Accountability in Nursing (OSAN) including organizers Josée Lavallée, Anne-Laurie Beaubrun, Sydney Wasserman, Sheena Doyle, Franny Hansen and Gigi Batubenge. Anne Laurie Beaubrun opened the session by sharing her Master’s thesis on collage art, and Sheena Doyle guided participants in creating their own meaningful pieces. A warm thank you to Gigi for taking pictures during the Collage event!

Throughout the week, students enjoyed free snacks, good vibes, and a strong sense of community. It was a timely reminder that wellness matters—and that we’re stronger together.

Big thanks to all the guest facilitators and student groups who made this week possible. Stay tuned for more NGSA events coming next year—including our fifth annual Nursing Wellness Week. Until then, have a safe and restful summer—you’ve earned it!
