Professor Doidge’s current research projects include understanding how crop insurance influences farmers’ incentives to adapt to climate change risk, how farmers make land use decisions, and how best to design incentives to promote best management practice (BMP) adoption to improve environmental quality.
Professor Doidge’s research examines farmer decision-making in the context of land use, crop insurance, conservation, and climate change adaptation behaviour, among others. She is interested in farmers’ on-farm economic decisions in the face of risk and uncertainty, and how insights from other social sciences can be applied to the study of agricultural economics.
