What’s New submissions

whatsnew.publicaffairs [at] mcgill.ca (What’s New) is McGill’s newsletter for sharing news, stories, campus information, and events listings.

Summer edition:

  •  The Student edition of What's New is on pause from April 14 to August 24, 2025. There will also be one special edition for Spring Convocation 2025.

  • Staff and faculty:
    • From June 11 to to July 23, What's New (staff) will be published on Wednesdays. The submission deadline is Tuesday by 11:30 a.m.
    • From July 24 to August 12 there will be no editions of What's New.

Regular editions:

  • Staff and faculty:
    • Shared on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the Fall and Winter terms.
    • Submission deadlines are Mondays and Wednesdays by 11:30 a.m.
  • Students:
    • Shared every Sunday during the Fall and Winter terms.
    • The submission deadline is Wednesdays at noon.

Guidelines:

  • All submissions must go through the webform below.
  • The maximum character count is 500, though editors reserve the right to adjust copy.
  • Include a URL or email address for readers to get detailed information.
  • Items can be submitted in French or English.
  • There must be a clear 51³Ô¹ÏÍøconnection AND a 51³Ô¹ÏÍøaudience.
  • Photos should be horizontal, 580x350 pixels, similar to a standard computer screen.
  • To meet accessibility requirements, images and photos should not include text, logos or QR codes. Event posters can no longer be accepted.

Note: We reserve the right to reject marketing content, calls for study participants, papers, grants and book launches or other submissions that don’t meet our criteria.

Submit now:

Files must be less than 2 MB.
Allowed file types: gif jpg jpeg png.
