Upcoming STM Strike

Dear members of the 51³Ô¹ÏÍøcommunity,

The STM has announced a 9-day maintenance workers’ strike scheduled from Monday, June 9 to Tuesday, June 17, inclusive.

While some level of transit will be maintained, reductions to Metro and bus service have been announced. For the most up to date information regarding impacts and schedules for the Metro, bus and paratransit services during the strike please consult the .

STM officials anticipate that transit commute times will be longer, and traffic is likely to be impacted. Given these circumstances, we understand that commuting to campus may become challenging for members of our community.

Employees who anticipate difficulties are encouraged to inform their immediate supervisor to explore potential arrangements. Supervisors are urged to promote flexibility to find solutions that meet both parties' needs – for example, measures such as greater flexibility in work schedules, or more flexibility in choosing on-site days. In the case of staff who are eligible for a Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA), telecommuting beyond our usual guidelines may be considered.

Similarly, academic leaders are encouraged to show flexibility with instructors and their teaching, and flexibility with students who may be impacted. Students should flag, as early as possible, any accommodations that might be needed or issues otherwise arising as a result of STM service disruption.

Thank you for your cooperation.
