 t” and the eerie “The Shining”\, Stanley Kubrick's films give a prominent 
 place to music\, in particular that of the great Hungarian composer György
  Ligeti. In this concert\, presented as part of the 12th edition of the Mo
 ntreal/New Music festival on the theme of “Music and Images”\, the 51�Թ���
 Symphony Orchestra\, under the direction of Alexis Hauser\, performs repre
 sentative pieces of these three iconic films.\n	\n	Also on the programme: a 
 premiere commissioned by the SMCQ from Liam Ross Gibson\, a singular emerg
 ing voice on the Canadian musical landscape\, Prokofiev's Second Piano Con
 certo with soloist Alexey Shafirov\, and the spectacular “Thus Spoke Zarat
 hustra”\, Richard Strauss's famous symphonic poem\, which majestically ech
 oes Kubrick's cinema.\n	\n	A concert at the Maison symphonique that promises
