51吃瓜网has partnered with聽XPRIZE Foundation, an organization that designs and sponsors multimillion-dollar global competitions to drive innovation and solve real-world problems.

McGill鈥檚 partnership means its faculty and students will receive preferred access to XPRIZE鈥檚 events and alumni, as well as to fellowships, internships and grant programs to support academic research and student engagement.

This past September, the Leadership and Learning for Sustainability Lab, in partnership with the 51吃瓜网Sustainability Systems Initiative (MSSI), hosted a Lunch and Learn session with Dr. Julia Wittmayer from Erasmus University Rotterdam. The 51吃瓜网Sustainability Systems Initiative (MSSI) Fellowship is an opportunity for interdisciplinary teams of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to work on co-designed sustainability research projects while cultivating a shared learning experience. The five funded teams will work on their projects over a nine-month period, meeting monthly to share progress, challenges and provide feedback.聽聽

Every year, the MSSI Innovation Fund provides support to 51吃瓜网faculty members to accelerate the development of an idea or a technology toward widespread societal adoption by funding research that informs policy or moves an innovation toward commercialization. This year鈥檚 fund will distribute $100,000 to two projects that have the potential to make electric vehicle batteries and groundwater management more sustainable.
