August Pride Events

July 31-August 10, various events and times: . Fierté Montréal amplifies the voices of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities to assure their representation, their inclusion and the recognition of their rights in society. Catalysts for social change, our Festival, our community initiatives, as well as our artistic and cultural projects celebrate the creativity and resilience of our communities.

August 10, 1:00-5:00pm: . This vibrant event gathers thousands of marchers to honor 2SLGBTQIA+ rights and highlight their ongoing struggles.This year’s theme, Blossom here, now!, asserts the right to grow, to fully shine, and to love freely. The 2.2 km parade route runs along René-Lévesque Boulevard, from Metcalfe to Atataken.

As and a (August 10th), neighbourhood churches are joining in. See below for some of the upcoming Pride-focused events!

Christ Church Cathedral:

Sunday, August 3, 4pm: Annual Pride Celebration. Join for music, readings, and prayers.

Sunday, August 10, 10:30am: Pride Blessing at the 10:30 Eucharist at Christ Church Cathedral (635 St. Catherine Street 2.) Join for our 10:30 Eucharist, which will include special prayers for pride and a blessing from the Bishop on those who will march in the parade. *Departure at 12:00 sharp for the Parade*

Church of St Andrew & St Paul:

Friday August 8, 6:30 pm: Pride Dinner featuring the music of the “Open House Jazz Collective” Join us for an evening of Christian fellowship featuring a free dinner followed by the wonderful music of the “Open House Jazz Collective.” This trans-led collaboration is made up entirely of professional jazz and classical musicians holding various marginalized identities. The band prides itself on its ability to build upon the vibrancy of the jazz tradition while making it more accessible. The goal of the collective is to provide a place for Queer and BIPOC creatives to build a safe space to prioritize radical joy through music. Sunday August 10, 9:30 am: Pride in the Garden Service We welcome you to celebrate God’s inclusiveness in the open air of the beautiful Quiet Garden of the Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul (3415 Redpath). Rev. Dr. Robert Faris is our guest preacher. Communion will be served

Sunday August 10, 11:00 am: Annual Presbyterian Pride Service You are invited to celebrate the promises of God’s inclusive love through our traditional worship service led by guest preacher Rev. Dr. Robert Faris (former moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Canada).

St. James United Church:

Sunday, August 10, 11 am: Annual pride service. This event will be outdoors (weather permitting) or in the sanctuary if inclement.
