Though plasmonics were first proposed for use in biosensing over 30 years ago\, intensive research and technological devel opments continue to this day both in academia and industry over a wide ran ge of applications. This talk will give an overview of the basic physics a nd technology underlying plasmonics\, followed by recent advances in plasm onics-based high-resolution imaging of biological cells. The talk will als o give examples of how plasmonics can be combined with other methods for m ultimode sensing\n\nInstructor\n\nProf. Paul Charette\, ing.\, PhD\n\nProf esseur agrégé et Chaire de Recherche en biophotonique et analyse des signa ux\n\nDépartement de génie électrique et informatique\, Sherbrooke Univers ity\n\nProf. Paul Charette is a Professor in the department of electrical and computer engineering at the Université de Sherbrooke (UdeS). He obtain ed his Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from 51³Ô¹ÏÍø in 1986 foll owed by postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Auckland (New Zealan d) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA). He joined the UdeS in 2012 after a career in industrial R&D. His research interests are in b iosensing and labs-on-a-chip using a variety of technologies such as fluor escence\, surface plasmon resonance\, microcalorimetry\, and surface acous tic waves.\n\nLocation\n\nThe semiar will be held at P2-2002\, 3IT Pavilio n\, Sherbrooke University and made available to the other students via vid eoconference at Burnside hall # 107\, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø\n\nRegistration De tails\n\nTo register\, please click here\n DTSTART:20151126T080000Z DTEND:20151126T090000Z SUMMARY:Surface plasmon resonance microscopy URL:/miam/channels/event/surface-plasmon-resonance-mic roscopy-256564 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
