Academic Records from Institutions of Higher-Learning (e.g., transcripts)

Academic records from every post-secondary institution (including exchange or study-abroad sessions) are required as part of the supporting documents of your application.  Unofficial copies can be uploaded via the online application system (see below).  The list of institutions that appear on your checklist are populated by the name of institutions in your application (step 1).  Be sure to indicate all institutions attended.

Please note that unofficial copies of transcripts must include the following information:
University name
Name and type of program
Student's name
Grades, credits, semesters/terms for each course

Applying (unofficial) transcripts required 

Once an application has been received (i.e., step 1 has been completed), upload a clear copy of each of your unofficial transcripts via the Applicant Portal. Please note the exceptions below. These transcripts are considered unofficial but will be used for the preliminary review of your application.

Transcripts written in a language other than English or French must be accompanied by a certified translation.

Transcripts from 51³Ô¹ÏÍø

Transcripts of studies at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø (post-1972)Ìýare automatically uploaded into your application's supporting document checklist item using your 51³Ô¹ÏÍøID number. There could be a delay between the time you apply, and the transcripts marked as received on the Applicant Portal checklist.

Transcripts from CEGEP

Transcripts of studies at any Quebec CEGEP are received directly from the Ministry. Transcripts received by the Ministry are considered official. There could be a delay between the time you apply, and the transcripts marked as received on the Applicant Portal checklist.

Documents from international medical graduate (IMG) applicants

International medical graduates applying to the MDCM for IMG program are required to upload their transcripts and supporting documents on the Applicant Portal. IMG applicants must also give permission to have their MCCQE Part 1 test scores released to the Undergraduate Medical Admissions Office via the Medical Council of Canada's  web portal. Admitted students to the MDCM or MD PhD program


Official copies of transcripts are required for all admitted students to the (MDCM or MD PhD) programs.  The official copies of transcripts should be sent directly from your institution by email: med.admissions [at] mcgill.ca (electronic official transcripts are preferred if available)Ìý

Transcripts sent by the school official credential Service Provider are also accepted

Additional Policies


The Undergraduate Medical Admissions Office reserves the right to require official academic records at any time during the admissions process, and refuse admission, or rescind any offer of admission made if discrepancies between unofficial and official record(s) are found. Official transcripts sent to 51³Ô¹ÏÍø become the property of the University and will not be returned or forwarded to other institutions.
