During your exchange

While you’re busy exploring and learning abroad, here are a few things that will help you ensure a smooth transition back to McGill:

Keep all course materials

Graded exams, essays, evaluation rubrics, syllabi, and reading lists may be needed by your 51³Ô¹ÏÍøFaculty Advisor to approve your courses for transfer credit.

Regularly check your 51³Ô¹ÏÍøemail

That’s how we stay in touch! Keep an eye out for important notices and information about 51³Ô¹ÏÍøcourse registration, fees, graduation, and more. In case of an emergency, 51³Ô¹ÏÍøwill contact you via your 51³Ô¹ÏÍøemail so be sure to check it regularly.

Register for 51³Ô¹ÏÍøcourses for the upcoming term (if applicable)

If you expect to return to 51³Ô¹ÏÍøafter your exchange program, be sure to register for your 51³Ô¹ÏÍøcourses by applicable deadlines to avoid late registration fees.

Apply to graduate (if applicable)

If you are a graduating student, you might have to apply for graduation on Minerva while on exchange. Failure to do so may jeopardize or postpone your graduation!

Arrange to have your transcript sent to McGill

Your transcript is an essential part of the credit transfer process and it is your responsibility to ensure that there are no holds on your records at the host university so that your transcript may be released to McGill.

Transcripts from host universities (in paper or electronic format) become the property of 51³Ô¹ÏÍøand will not be returned to you or forwarded to another institution. If you want a copy for your own records, make sure to request it before leaving.
