 d a scientist\, is here to explain! Come join us virtually on March 1\, fr
 om 12-1pm for a talk about Craig's career path\, the differences between m

 born in Mandeville\, Jamaica (Xaymaca- Land of wood and water). During hig
 h school\, his path was undecided- divided between his love of science and
  his passion for languages. After high school\, he went to the University 
 of the West Indies where he completed medical school while involved in the
  social and cultural life of the university as a language ambassador. Afte
 r graduating\, he worked as a physician in central Jamaica for three years
 \, before leaving to Canada to pursue kidney research at McGill. His resea
 rch revolves around a special protein kinase called SLK and its effects on
  kidney filtration. When he is not in the lab\, Craig devotes time (and at
 tention) to his cat\, Bree\, as well as spending time with his friends\, l
 earning other languages\, and enjoys the seasonal sports.\n\nLet's Talk Sc
 ience is a national\, not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing '
 hands-on\, minds-on' opportunities to engage youth in STEM. The 51³Ô¹ÏÍøCha
 pter of Let's Talk Science is a volunteer-based group of graduate and unde
 rgraduate students from a wide range of faculties at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø. \n
