In the third installment of National Geographics Into Water 360 series, canoe through the sprawling Canadian wilderness with freshwater ecologist and National Geographic Explorer Dalal Hanna [Ph.D. candidate NRS (Bennett)]. She researches Quebecs extensive freshwater systems, collecting samples from streams, rivers and lakes to assess ecosystem health, with the aim of protecting these precious resources.

Keesha Nesss family certainly knows farming theyve been doing it for nearly 100 years and plan to celebrate when they reach that milestone next summer.

Ness is passionate about farming, loves her cows, and plans to follow the familys tradition.

Im definitely hoping to help out with the management side, says Ness of her familys Ayrshire dairy farm in Howick, Quebec.

Greater local earthworm diversity in temperate regions than in the tropics

Global climate change could lead to significant shifts in earthworm communities worldwide, threatening the many vital functions they provide.
