McGill’s Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism (CHRLP) is currently accepting applications for:

a 12-month clerkship at the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA);
a 10-month fellowship at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

The clerkships are due to start in September 2026.

The Faculty of Law mourns the passing of Nahum Gelber, CM, KC, BCL’57, a distinguished alumnus and cherished friend of our community.

Mr. Gelber’s visionary philanthropy made possible the creation of the Nahum Gelber Law Library, inaugurated in 1998. This state-of-the-art facility has since become a cornerstone of legal scholarship at McGill, offering students a bright, open, and welcoming space for study and reflection. More than three decades later, the Gelber Library remains a beloved and vital part of campus life.

The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce that Professor Jennifer Raso has received the Scholarly Paper Award of the Canadian Association of Law Teachers (CALT). She was honoured for her article “Data Entry and Decision Chains: Distributed Responsibility and Bureaucratic Disempowerment in the UK’s Universal Credit Programme”, co-authored with Victoria Adelmant.
