The objective will involve students\, scholars\, the faculty\, civil society\ , and the larger public in meaningful discussions to foster theoretical an d practical engagement to advance Indigenous Peoples’ rights.  The dialogu es are coordinated by 51ԹDoctoral Candidate Luisa Castaneda-Quintana\, in collaboration with the Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism and the Indigenous Law Association / Association du Droit Autochtone (ILADA).  \n\nAbout the speaker\n\nAnne Nuorgam\, Sámi people\, Chair\, The United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII)\n\nAnne Nuorgam is a long-term Sámi politician and a lawyer who holds a Master of Law degree a nd is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Lapland. She has been a member of the Sámi Parliament of Finland since 2000. Ms. Nuorgam is the Chair of Veahčanjárga Fishery.
