 nation of the tradition of Dante’s letters\, in addition to new\, indirect
  evidence offer new food for thought. This presentation will illustrate ho
 w a letter by Cangrande della Scala to Emperor Henry VII (1312) reveals de
 tails that can be traced back with all probability to Dante himself.\n
