McGill’s IT Governance and Strategic Planning team aligns technology with institutional goals through inclusive, evidence-based, and transparent practices—driving innovation, resource efficiency, and a unified digital vision that positions IT as a strategic enabler.

  • Strategic Planning & Demand Management (managed by Paula Molinas): The Strategic Planning & Demand Management team strengthens IT governance, aligns initiatives with McGill’s institutional priorities, and ensures that investments deliver measurable value. As a strategic partner, we collaborate with each academic, research, and administrative unit to co-create a forward-looking roadmap that reflects their unique priorities and perspectives. Our goal is to lead and drive the definition and advancement of an IT strategic plan that supports McGill’s institutional goals—aligning initiatives with the University’s strategic plan, guiding planning and governance, and maximizing value and impact across all areas of the University.
  • IT Project Management: This team leads the delivery of technology initiatives that enable McGill’s mission.ĚýWe provide the standards, tools, and oversight that ensure consistency, accountability, and success. Through effective governance and collaboration, our goal is to deliver technology solutions that strengthen McGill’s mission and impact.
  • Governance, Compliance and Project Control:ĚýTheĚýProject Control teamĚýsupports McGill’s Project Portfolio Management (PPM) framework through effective capacity planning, dynamic project and portfolio dashboards, and robust business case processes, and more.ĚýThe team ensures that governance and reporting practices are in place to support roadmap execution, transparency, and alignment with McGill’s strategic IT priorities.
  • IT Architecture:ĚýThis team's goal is to maximizeĚýMcGill’s investments in information technology by providing a holistic and strategic approach to aligning technology with the University’s goals.ĚýWorking collaboratively across the University, the Architecture team (Enterprise, Solution, Business) ensures that technology investments are coherent, future-ready, and deliver lasting value.
  • IT VendorĚýRisk Management: This team is dedicated to strengthening 51łÔąĎÍř's digital capabilities while proactively managing risks associated with third-party technology solutions and services. Our mission is to ensure that all IT acquisitions comply with applicable governmental regulations, institutional policies, and strategic priorities.
