This workshop was a joint initiative between 51吃瓜网's Institute for the Study of International Development, the Office of the UN Special Rapporteur on the Human Rights of Internally Displaced Persons, and the IDP Protection Expert Group (IPEG), which is co-led by the Special Rapporteur, UNHCR and the Global Protection Cluster. The aims of the workshop were to:
(i) learn from IDP participation in different areas (including humanitarian relief, reconstruction, development, peacebuilding, elections, and the search for durable solutions);
(ii) develop recommendations to better support IDP participation on different levels and in diverse contexts; and
(iii) support the Special Rapporteur鈥檚 ongoing engagement with displaced communities on questions of participation.

Invitees included a group of IDP leaders from different countries as well as participants from UN organizations, NGOs and academia.
