Policies exert influence on the way we selec t medical students\, design curricula\, structure assessment and progressi on\, resource training environments\, and situate educators. Policies are also a way to drive or change education by conveying values and encouragin g or constraining particular types of behaviour. Despite this important ro le\, education policy is infrequently incorporated into medical education research or innovation. In this rounds presentation\, I will argue that ed ucation policy is worth more scholarly attention\, given the role it plays in shaping the context and influencing the outcomes of medical education. As a group\, we will explore how attention to policy may attune the educa tional interventions we design\, the way we assess the efficacy of those i nterventions\, and the way we understand interactions within the learning environment.\n\nVIA ZOOM\n February 20\, 2025 16H00 - 17H30\n Please registe r to obtain the Zoom link\n\nMeredith Vanstone is Associate Professor in t he Department of Family Medicine at McMaster University\, where she holds the Canada Research Chair in Ethical Complexity in Primary Care.
