Professors J. Donald Boudreau and Claire M. Brown named to Ordre de l鈥檈xcellence en 茅ducation

Joseph Donald Boudreau and Claire M. Brown, both of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, are among the latest appointees to the聽Ordre de l鈥檈xcellence en 茅ducation du Qu茅bec, the highest distinction awarded by the Quebec government in the field of education.

Professors Boudreau and Brown were among 24 new honourees. The group was feted at a June 10 ceremony at the National Assembly in Quebec City.

Donald Boudreau, MD, has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to medical education with two prestigious honours.聽聽聽

Dr. Boudreau was named to the Ordre de l鈥檈xcellence en 茅ducation du Qu茅bec for his considerable achievements and work to raise the profile of education in Quebec society.聽

In the late 2000s, a young Robert Sternszus found himself at a strategic planning meeting for education within McGill鈥檚 Faculty of Medicine.

Then a fourth-year medical student, he was invited to share his observations about what he and his colleagues were being taught in lectures about professionalism: the values, competencies, attitudes and behaviours that society expects from a health professional.
