 Finance Essentials (MPFE)\, a free\, online course offered in collaboratio
 n with RBC Future Launch and The Globe and Mail. MPFE is available in Engl
 ish and French and is taught by professors in the Desautels Faculty of Man
 agement. The course covers budgeting\, borrowing\, real estate and beyond 
 and was developed to help Canadians improve their financial literacy.\n	An 
 introduction to Investing: what are the main choices\, from stocks to bond
 s\, mutual funds and GICs\, and most importantly\, what are the common mis
 takes that need to be avoided?\n	Q&A\n\n\nAbout the speaker:\n\nDr. Croitor
 u joined McGill's Desautels Faculty of Management in 2000\, where he teach
 es introductory finance\, investments and asset pricing at the undergradua
 te\, masters and doctoral level.\n\nDr. Croitoru's research has been conce
 rned primarily with improving the understanding of asset prices in the pre
 sence of the type of imperfections that occur in real-life (such as taxati
 on\, differences in beliefs\, or portfolio constraints such as restriction
 s on short sales). He has presented his research at the American Finance A
 ssociation and the Western Finance Association meetings\, as well as other
  conferences and universities in Europe and North America. His research ha
 s been published in leading journals including the Journal of Financial Ec
 onomics\, Management Science and the Review of Financial Studies.\n\nDr. C
 roitoru currently serves as Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs. He 
 is also the Academic Director of the 51³Ô¹ÏÍøPersonal Finance Essentials fr
 ee online course\, which has attracted over 200\,000 participants since it
