Stay tuned for the next seminar in the series. Thanks f or your interest in Neurogenesis!\n\n  \n\n\n\nSpeakers\n\nYang Zhou\n\nYan g Zhou's lab is developing and applying technologies to engineer genetic m utations associated with neurological disorders in order to better underst and how these mutations impact the neural circuits and behavior in model o rganisms. This research will identify causes of disease and allow the test ing of genetic-based therapeutic approaches\, as well as investigations in to how genetic disturbances of neural circuits influence learning and cogn ition.\n\n\n  \n\nJean-Francois Poulin\n\nJ.F. Poulin's lab has developed n ovel transgenic approaches to demonstrate that different subtypes of dopam ine neurons display distinct axonal projections and has also shown that on e particular subtype is more vulnerable to Parkinson’s disease. These find ings strongly suggest that each subtype is potentially associated with a s pecific circuit\, function and/or disease. The lab's future research aims to investigate how dopamine circuits are altered in transgenic mouse model s of neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders.\n\n \n\n \n DTSTART:20221215T210000Z DTEND:20221215T220000Z LOCATION:Suite 1800\, Lovelace Conference Room\, Sherbrooke 1010\, CA\, Mon tréal\, H3A 2R7\, 1010 rue Sherbrooke Ouest SUMMARY:Neurogenesis: New Faculty Recruit Speaker Series URL:/hbhl/channels/event/neurogenesis-new-faculty-recr uit-speaker-series-343468 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
