The changes that smallholders have been experiencing differ a ccording to the time period. By addressing the historical trajectory of Ta iwanese smallholders and reviewing their persistence\, resistance\, and tr ansformations from the past to the present\, Po-Yi Hung reconsiders the fu ture prospects of Taiwanese smallholders and argues for the importance of looking beyond what seems to be a binary opposition between local food mov ements and conventional agriculture. On the one hand\, the ageing and dwin dling agricultural labour force in rural Taiwan serves to exacerbate the d ecline of the rural economy. On the other\, younger smallholders have capi talized on their abilities to forge collective action to revitalize smallh oldings.\n DTSTART:20210422T233000Z DTEND:20210423T010000Z SUMMARY:Food and Agriculture in Taiwan: An Overview of History and Cultural Transformation URL:/eas/channels/event/food-and-agriculture-taiwan-ov erview-history-and-cultural-transformation-330478 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
